1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and provide information to the site owner. Similar technologies (e.g. local storage, pixel tags, SDKs) can perform the same function as cookies and are covered by this policy.

2. Categories we use

2.1 Strictly necessary

These are required for the Services to function (authenticating you on admin pages, keeping your cart-like donation state during a session, remembering your language preference, and protecting against CSRF and fraud). You cannot opt out of strictly necessary cookies.

  • NEXT_LOCALE — language preference (Next.js i18n)
  • sb-* — admin authentication session (Supabase)
  • gfl_tracking — short-lived UTM persistence within a single donation session

2.2 Analytics

Help us understand how the Services are used so we can improve them. Data is aggregated where possible.

  • Microsoft Clarity — session replay and heatmaps (anonymized)

2.3 Marketing / advertising

Measure the effectiveness of fundraising campaigns and reach donors with similar interests on partner platforms. These pixels collect a cookie identifier and may use a server-to-server API (Conversion API, or CAPI) to send a hashed version of your email and other event data to the partner.

  • Meta Pixel: _fbp, _fbc — visitor and click attribution
  • TikTok Pixel: _ttp — visitor attribution; _ttclid from the ad click URL
  • Utmify — first-party UTM persistence and attribution

3. How long cookies last

Cookies are either "session" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" (stored until they expire or you delete them). Persistent cookies on our site last from 30 days to approximately 2 years, depending on their purpose.

4. Your choices

4.1 Browser settings

Most browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when cookies are set. Refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will impair core functionality (for example, you will not be able to complete a donation).

We honor the "Global Privacy Control" (GPC) signal where applicable. If your browser is sending GPC, we treat that as an opt-out from sharing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
